Disks around massive young stellar objects: are they common?
We present K-band polarimetric images of several massive young stellar
objects at resolutions 0.1-0.5 arcsec. The polarization vectors around
these sources are nearly centro-symmetric, indicating they are dominating the
illumination of each field. Three out of the four sources show elongated
low-polarization structures passing through the centers, suggesting the
presence of polarization disks. These structures and their surrounding
reflection nebulae make up bipolar outflow/disk systems, supporting the
collapse/accretion scenario as their low-mass siblings. In particular, S140
IRS1 show well defined outflow cavity walls and a polarization disk which
matches the direction of previously observed equatorial disk wind, thus
confirming the polarization disk is actually the circumstellar disk. To date, a
dozen massive protostellar objects show evidence for the existence of disks;
our work add additional samples around MYSOs equivalent to early B-type stars.Comment: 9 pages, including 2 figures, 1 table, to appear on ApJ
Physical States, Factorization and Nonlinear Structures in Two Dimensional Quantum Gravity
The nonlinear structures in 2D quantum gravity coupled to the
minimal model are studied in the Liouville theory to clarify the factorization
and the physical states. It is confirmed that the dressed primary states
outside the minimal table are identified with the gravitational descendants.
Using the discrete states of ghost number zero and one we construct the
currents and investigate the Ward identities which are identified with the W
and the Virasoro constraints. As nontrivial examples we derive the ,
and equations exactly. and equations are also
discussed. We then explicitly show the decoupling of the edge states . We consider the interaction theory perturbed by the
cosmological constant and the screening charge . The
formalism can be easily generalized to potential models other than the

Non-linear Structures in Non-critical NSR String
We investigate the Ward identities of the \W_{\infty} symmetry in the
super-Liouville theory coupled to the super-conformal matter of central charge
. The theory is classified into two chiralities.
For the positive chirality, all gravitationally dressed scaling operators are
generated from the gravitational primaries by acting one of the ring
generators in the R-sector on them repeatedly. After fixing the normalizations
of the dressed scaling operators, we find that the Ward identities are
expressed in the form of the {\it usual} \W_q algebra constraints as in the
bosonic case: \W^{(k+1)}_n \tau =0, , where the equations for even and odd come from the currents in the
NS- and the R-sector respectively. The non-linear terms come from the anomalous
contributions at the boundaries of moduli space. The negative chirality is
defined by interchanging the roles of and . Then we get the \W_p

Aharonov-Bohm interferometry with quantum dots: scattering approach versus tunneling picture
We address the question of how to model electron transport through closed
Aharonov-Bohm interferometers which contain quantum dots. By explicitly
studying interferometers with one and two quantum dots, we establish the
connection between a tunneling-Hamiltonian formulation on the one hand and a
scattering-matrix approach on the other hand. We prove that, under certain
circumstances, both approaches are equivalent, i.e., both types of models can
describe the same experimental setups. Furthermore, we analyze how the
interplay of the Aharonov-Bohm phase and the orbital phase associated with the

Stopping power dependence of nitrogen sputtering yields in copper nitride films under swift-ion irradiation: Exciton model approach
Nitrogen sputtering yields as high as 104 atoms/ion, are obtained by irradiating N-rich-Cu3N films (N concentration: 33 ± 2 at.%) with Cu ions at energies in the range 10?42 MeV. The kinetics of N sputtering as a function of ion fluence is determined at several energies (stopping powers) for films deposited on both, glass and silicon substrates. The kinetic curves show that the amount of nitrogen release strongly increases with rising irradiation fluence up to reaching a saturation level at a low remaining nitrogen fraction (5?10%), in which no further nitrogen reduction is observed. The sputtering rate for nitrogen depletion is found to be independent of the substrate and to linearly increase with electronic stopping power (Se). A stopping power (Sth) threshold of ?3.5 keV/nm for nitrogen depletion has been estimated from extrapolation of the data. Experimental kinetic data have been analyzed within a bulk molecular recombination model. The microscopic mechanisms of the nitrogen depletion process are discussed in terms of a non-radiative exciton decay model. In particular, the estimated threshold is related to a minimum exciton density which is required to achieve efficient sputtering rates
Seronegative Herpes simplex Associated Esophagogastric Ulcer after Liver Transplantation
Herpes simplex infection is characterized by acute or subacute infection, often followed by a chronic carrier state. Consecutive recurrences may flare up if immunocompromise occurs. Herpes simplex associated esophagitis or duodenal ulcer have been reported in immunocompromised patients due to neoplasm, HIV/AIDS or therapeutically induced immune deficiency. Here we report the case of an HSV-DNA seronegative patient who developed grade III dysphagia 13 days after allogeneic liver transplantation. Endoscopy revealed an esophageal-gastric ulcer, and biopsy histopathology showed a distinct fibroplastic and capillary ulcer pattern highly suspicious for viral infection. Immunohistochemistry staining revealed a distinct nuclear positive anti-HSV reaction. Antiviral therapy with acyclovir and high-dose PPI led to a complete revision of clinical symptoms within 48 h. Repeat control endoscopy after 7 days showed complete healing of the former ulcer site at the gastroesophageal junction. Although the incidence of post-transplantation Herpes simplex induced gastroesophageal disease is low, the viral HSV ulcer may be included into a differential diagnosis if dysphagia occurs after transplantation even if HSV-DNA PCR is negative
Supratentorial Gangliocytoma Mimicking Extra-axial Tumor: A Report of Two Cases
We report two cases of supratentorial gangliocytomas mimicking an extra-axial tumor. MR imaging indicated that the tumors were extra-axial, and meningiomas were thus initially diagnosed. Relative to gray matter, the tumors were hypointense on T1-weighted images and hyperintense on T2-weighted images. On contrast-enhanced T1-weighted images, homogeneous enhancement was observed, while CT scanning revealed calcification in one of the two cases
Subaru Hyper Suprime-Cam Survey for An Optical Counterpart of GW170817
We perform a -band survey for an optical counterpart of a binary neutron
star coalescence GW170817 with Subaru/Hyper Suprime-Cam. Our untargeted
transient search covers deg corresponding to the credible
region of GW170817 and reaches the completeness magnitude of mag
on average. As a result, we find 60 candidates of extragalactic transients,
including J-GEM17btc (a.k.a. SSS17a/DLT17ck). While J-GEM17btc is associated
with NGC 4993 that is firmly located inside the 3D skymap of GW170817, the
other 59 candidates do not have distance information in the GLADE v2 catalog or
NASA/IPAC Extragalactic Database (NED). Among 59 candidates, 58 are located at
the center of extended objects in the Pan-STARRS1 catalog, while one candidate
has an offset. We present location, -band apparent magnitude, and time
variability of the candidates and evaluate the probabilities that they are
located inside of the 3D skymap of GW170817. The probability for J-GEM17btc is
being much higher than those for the other 59 candidates
(). Furthermore, the possibility, that at
least one of the other 59 candidates is located within the 3D skymap, is only
. Therefore, we conclude that J-GEM17btc is the most-likely and

Determination of trace elements in natural water samples by air-segmented flow-injection/ICP-MS after preconcentration with a chitosan-based chelating resin
本法では,各種天然水中の極微量金属成分を同時定量する目的で空気分節試料導入/ICP-MSシステムを用いて,微少量試料(数十μl)を前処理せずにネブライザーに送り込み,多数の金属成分の定量が可能であった。共存主成分による質量干渉を受ける一部遷移金属や直接試料導入では感度の足りない元素については,イミノ二酢酸型キトサンキレート樹脂充填カラムによる分離·濃縮操作の併用によって更に信頼性の高いデータが得られることが分かった。前処理においては,体積1mlのミニカラムを用いて50mlの溶液試料から50倍濃縮を行い,試料·試薬·廃液すべてを少量化することができた。本ICP-MSシステムでは試料導入量は80μlで十分であり,1mlでも数回繰り返し測定が可能で,しかも多元素同時分析ができた。確立した分析法を用いて河川水や市販のミネラルウォーターに応用し,希土類を含め45種の微量元素の定量が可能となった。Ultratrace elements in natural water samples were determined simultaneously by air-segmented flow-injection/inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry(SFI/ICP-MS).A small volume of the sample solutions(80μl) was introduced into a nebulizer by an air-segmented flow-injection(SFI) system, and a maximum of fifteen elements were measured during each run.A chitosan-based chelating resin containing functional groups of iminodiacetate was used to separate and enrich analyte metal ions.A 50-fold preconcentration using 50ml of sample solutions was achieved by the proposed method, where 1ml of 0.1M nitric acid was added to residues after drying the chelating column effluent.At pH6, several heavy metals(Fe, Ni, Co, Cu, Zn, Ag, Cd, Pb and U) and rare earth elements(REEs) were quantitatively retained on the chelating resin column, whereas alkali and alkaline earth metals were eluted from the column by rinsing with 5ml of a 0.2M ammonium acetate solution.Metals adsorbed on the chelating resin column were recovered by elution with 10ml of 1M nitric acid.The proposed method was applied to the determination of trace elements in several natural water samples, such as river water and mineral drinking water
